Ingredients

• 2 x Ripe avocados

• 1 x Small red onion

• 1 x Garlic clove

• 1 x Mature tomato

• Juice of 1 lime

• A handful of fresh coriander

• Black pepper, as required

• Sea Salt Flakes as required

Directions

1. Halve the avocados, discard the stone, and lightly mash using a fork (or use a pestle if you're fortunate enough to own a molcajete). Go for the consistency you prefer, be it velvety or more robust.

2. Finely dice the onion, garlic, tomato, and fresh coriander. Incorporate these into the mashed avocado.

3. Drizzle in lime juice, then season with salt and pepper. Blend until well combined.

4. Allow the guacamole to cool by refrigerating for about 30 minutes before serving.

5. Pair your guacamole with tortilla chips, crisp bread, or your choice of bread.

Recipe Note

Tips to Retain Freshness:  Guacamole can quickly oxidise, leading to a brownish hue. 

To counteract this:

Press the guacamole into a storage container using the back of a spoon. Pour a thin layer of cold water over the top. Seal the container with its lid and refrigerate. Following this method, your guacamole should maintain its vibrant green colour and freshness for up to three days.
